Tintypes are a black and white photograph taken on a piece of metal. We use the Wet Plate Collodion process for our tintypes which is the same chemical process used during the 1850s. As this process sees a different spectrum of light than modern photographs, you get a very different look. Whether wearing modern clothes or wardrobe from the past, you photograph will transport you back in time.

As the Wet Plate Photography process is primarily UV sensitive, you will get to experience a portrait of yourself as though you traveled back to the 19th century.

Portrait Sessions: We can come to your location and do a portrait of you. Portrait sessions are roughly one hour and will include up to 4 4x5 tintypes. These are currently available in Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, and Tuolumne Counties.
